Proposal to close Brixham Road for four months from January 2023

Due to the start of the Inglewood development on the outskirts of Paignton, we have received a request from the developer to close Brixham Road, between Long Road and Windy Corner for up to four months from 3 January 2023. The request is for a range of highways and drainage works to take place to support the new site, which will include homes, a primary school, and a pub.

We are currently in discussions with the developer to find the best solution for our residents and businesses and to agree on how these works can be carried out with the least amount of disruption possible.

To inform these discussions, we would like to hear how this proposed closure might impact you, local businesses, and your customers moving around the Bay. We would also like to hear ideas on what could be considered to reduce this disruption.

To provide your feedback on this, visit our engagement pages by midnight on Sunday 20 November 2022. These pages will be kept up to date with the next steps and the outcome of the application to close the road.
