Further Expertise sort, for TDA board

TDA is looking for non-executive directors to join their board to support the growth of the company.

The company is seeking a new member to complement the existing skills on the board, support the growth aspirations of TDA and ensure that the company is responsive to relevant sector interests.

TDA makes a real difference to the lives of people living and working in the South West, delivering innovative and practical programmes in areas including job and business creation. In the last 12 months, TDA has delivered two jobs fairs, generating over 600 job interviews and helping people back into work. In addition to this, TDA has worked with over 300 businesses to improve their performance and support growth, and helped 45 people start up their own business.

Year on year, TDA successfully delivers high quality economic development, property and business services to a growing customer base across the South West. TDA has won £6.6m of external funding to bring forward key capital projects in Torbay and secured £40,000 to extend the MADE project, inspiring over 3,500 young people into manufacturing and engineering.

Vince Flower, Chairman of TDA, said: “The new board member will add value to our decision making processes and contribute to driving the delivery of complex projects. Previous non-executive experience is not required but we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with expertise and experience in residential property development or management, the healthcare sector or with a strong interest in the Torbay economy.

“Given the scale of projects and the ambition of TDA, the new member will need to be passionate about making a difference. They will be dealing with complex development issues to ensure good governance and outcomes sought by TDA, its shareholder and clients.”

Applications close on Friday 6 September. For a candidate brief and further details about the role visit www.tda.uk.net/our-board
