We certainly are, 2017 was an amazing year in Torbay with a host of new events, some pretty amazing spells of sunshine and of course packed beaches and ice cream.

So whether you’re a first time visitor to the bay or a seasoned veteran, here at BoostTorbay.com we’ve pulled together 7 of the best reasons for you to come and visit Torbay in 2018.

Grinagog Music Festival (20th – 22nd April 2018)

Kick start the season with a music spectacular. Initially launched in 2017, Grinagog is back for another year and it’s bigger, and better than ever.

Featuring The Correspondents, Fire In The Mountain Presents, Henge and much much more.  Celebrating both creativity, diversity and hi-jinks, the Grinagog festival provides you with an immersive experience through genre defining music, mind-blowing arts and memorable performances.

Enjoy the latest Music festival to hit Torbay in the stunning 800 year old grounds of Torre Abbey.

Brixham Pirate Festival (5th- 7th May 2018)

What could be better than visiting the small, friendly and quaint fishing village of Brixham?

What about meeting Captain Jack Sparrow, Black Beard and many others.  Back for another year, the Brixham Pirate festival is a practical and fun filled 2 days.

So put on your best pirate outfit, douse the canons, prep the rum and head on over to Brixham for lots of music, shanties, pirate rock and an overall swashbuckling experience.

Prosecco Festival (18th – 19th May 2018)

Charge your glasses an enjoy an evening at the Riviera International Conference Centre, sampling a range of Prosecco.

Seeing as the event is taking place on a weekend, you may as well make the most of it.  Start off on the Friday at 6:30pm, with an empty glass and fill it as many times as you wish whilst taking in live music and maybe even a dance on the purpose built dance floor.

Last year, a similar event was ran for Gin, and given that Gin has outstripped Vodka as being the trendy drink of 2017, let’s see if we can make Prosecco the drink of 2018.

Torbay Air Show (2nd – 3rd June 2018)

Tear up the sky with the Torbay Air Show, Paignton

Tear up the skies with the award winning Torbay Air Show, back for its 3rd year.

Featuring the Red Arrows, Chinnook Air Display team, The Blades Team and many more, plus a whole host of stores, exhibitors and local businesses displaying on Paignton Green.

What can make this event any more impressive?  Well beautiful sunshine, maybe, but it’s all done over the water on the sea front in Paignton.  What’s more the event is totally free to attend, if you’re driving, booking a parking spot is advisable.

Paignton Regatta 2018 (4th – 12th AUgust 2018)

Grab your flip flops for a 9 day spectacular Paignton Regatta

Back for 2018, head over to Paignton Green for over 80 hours of fun and entertainment whilst enjoying the late Summer Sun.

Featuring Day Time LIVE Music from a wide range of music artists and covering a range of genres. Want more in the evening enjoy Regatta Rocks featuring more Live Music, a licensed brand hot food all kicking off from 7pm.

From taking part in Beat the Tide competition through to shouting lots of oohs and aaah as the Fireworks light up Paignton’s night sky.  There is really something for everyone during the Paignton regatta a 9 day spectacular event right in the heart of Paignton.

Golden beaches in Torquay

Nothing quite says Summer like a day at the beach.

Here in Torbay we have some 22 miles of coastline which covers just over 20 beaches and coves.

Looking to just laze around in Golden Sands?  Head over to Goodrington Sands, just a 5 minute walk from the local car park and around 15 minute drive from Torquay and Brixham.

Enjoy an ice cream along Torquay’s prom as you put the world to rights and discuss your next Torbay adventure.

Grab yourselves a bucket and spade, and get building your very own sandcastle on some of Torbay’s beautiful and award winning beaches.

Late Summer Nightlife, Torre Abbey Sands, Torquay

Torbay was awarded the Purple Flag award in 2011.  The purple flag award means that Torquay offers an entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable night out.

Across the county of Torbay you will find a host of quaint pubs, rip roaring clubs, seductive restaurants and a plethora of eateries.  Fancy a night on the tiles with music and dance, get yourselves down to Park Lane and dance the night way with the latest in music from headline DJs.

Looking for a quieter night, head on down to either Biancos or Amici and enjoy a selection of Italian dishes, complete with a bottle of white or red wine.

A night at the theatre?  No problem, get yourselves down to Pier Point for breathtaking views of the bay, whilst enjoying a selection of dishes from light bits and sharers all the way through to the Catch of the day, locally sourced.
