Refurbished Bank Lane Toilets, Brixham reopened

Toilets across Torbay have been a talking point, or should that be sticking point for sometime now.

Recently Torbay Council has closed the toilets in Torquay Town Centre and also on Corbyn Head.

The town centre toilets are believed to be closed due to another leak being identified.  Whilst the Corbyn Head facilities were closed due to anti-social behaviour.

An update on all available toilet facilities is available via the Torbay Council website.

Light on the horizon

However, over in Brixham, this week, the newly refurbished Bank Lane Toilets have reopened.

The opening comes following £125,000 worth of improvements.

Unisex Toilets

Unisex toilets now open at Bank Lane toilets, Brixham

The improvements includes a total refurbishment to the building both inside and out, as well as the utilisation of unisex cubicles, new disabled facilities and baby changing unit.

The new improvements are not without a cost, and members of the public can now expect to pay 0.30p to use the new facilities.

Bank Lane toilets, Brixham joins Beacon Quay, Torquay to introduce the charge.

Modernised toilets

Torbay’s elected Mayor, Gordon Oliver said:

Following the commissioning of Healthmatic to manage, maintain and modernise toilets across the Bay, the toilets at Bank Lane have been our biggest project. It is great to see that these toilets are now much improved and are better equipped for those who use them.

We continue to work through our refurbishing programme to other toilets across the Bay and the new Changing Place facility at Paignton will be ready to open to the public soon.

The toilets at Bank Lane, Brixham, will be open from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week.
