Out-Patient Appointments Postponed at Torbay Hospital

Torbay Hospital, Torquay have had to make the difficult decision to postpone all out-patient appointments planned for today (Monday, 19th March 2018).  If you did have an out-patients appointment today it will have been postponed and you will have been contacted accordingly.

A spokes person for the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation trust said:

Due to the extreme weather today and the uncertainty of the weather overnight we have taken the decision to postpone all out-patient appointments for Monday 19 March. We will be contacting patients as soon as possible to rebook. We are sorry that we have had to take this decision but it is important that we focus on urgent and emergency care.

We are asking that all our staff who are rostered to be on duty attend as normal and where they have any difficulty getting in they are being given numbers to call for support.

Essential domiciliary care visits are continuing. However other visits might be cancelled, if this is the case people will be phoned to let them know what is happening. Anybody concerned should phone their local team’s office.

We do hope that people are able to stay warm and safe but if you do need care please look at the NHSquicker app, call NHS 111 or go to www.nhs.uk for advice and only in an emergency call 999 or visit an Emergency Department.

We will continue to put our latest information on our website and ask people to look there for updates www.torbayandsouthdevon.nhs.uk“

Please  take care out there, there is a lot of snow and ice around and although the main roads are now clear the side roads are still heavily covered in snow.
