A woman in her 20s was assaulted and sexually assaulted on Sunday, January 20th 2019, in the area of the Terrace Torquay.
Initially the police arrested a 19 year old male from Torquay, however he was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Yesterday, Friday 25th 2019, Kevin Foale, aged 49 of Lister Way in Totnes appeared at Plymouth Magistrates Court charged with attempted rape and is set to appear at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday 28th February 2019.
He was further remanded until his appearance at Exeter Crown Court.
The victim is currently being supported by specialist officers.
