Loungers Group to Open New Site in Torquay

Loungers, the West Country based restaurant/café/bar group is due to open a brand new site in Torquay.  Visto Lounge throws open its doors on Thursday 17th July on the ground floor of the exclusive Abbey Sands development on Torquay’s waterfront creating 30 jobs for local people.

Loungers has invested £500K at the beachside site transforming the venue into a retro home from home, where dramatic art work sits next to oversized vintage sofas and statement light fittings, in the eclectic style much loved by Lounge aficionados.

Jeremy Burton-Dickie, operations manager, Loungers, said:  “Torquay is the perfect site for our Lounge concept and it’s incredibly exciting to be part of this stunning development. There’s already a thriving and vibrant community and we’re really looking forward to playing our part in the foodie scene here.

“Torquay residents will be served by the very best – our new team is passionate about hospitality.  Our excellent pre-opening and ‘on the job’ training programme ensures our staff will be at the top of their game.  Our customers will also be able to enjoy some of the best views on the English Riviera.”

Visto Lounge will cater for all tastes throughout the day.  Whether you’re looking for the best coffee in town, a business lunch with colleagues or a lazy all-day brunch, Visto Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind.  The menu features everything from their famous authentic tapas and Smokehouse pulled pork burgers to frittata and the best fish and chips you’ve ever tasted… or there’s the ever changing specials board.  Little people are well catered for with their very own kids’ menu.

Tanya Griffiths of Kay Elliott Architects says “This wonderful new venue is a welcome feature to this stretch of waterfront in central Torquay and to the Abbey Sands development which is a contemporary interpretation of the Riviera style.”
