The Last Supper arrives at Torre Abbey Museum

The Last Supper, a monumental piece of history that is told throughout the bible as the moment Jesus sits down with his disciples for his final meal on the eve of his Crucifixion.

Fast forward a few thousand years, and get set for a 13 minute piece of cutting edge, atmospheric and immersive theatre performance by robots.

The production?

A depiction of the infamous Last Supper.

The Last Supper.

Created by kinetic artist and scrap sculptor Giles Walker, this piece has only ever been seen in LA and the Science museum in London.

Now, this master piece has arrived on the shores of the English Riviera at Torre Abbey Museum.

The Last Supper, like never before

12 figures sit around a large candle lit table, depicting Leonardo Da Vinci’s iconic painting of the Last Supper.

However, these 12 figures are far from saintly.

The characters appear to be in great debate whilst bird-headed creatures scuttle about.

At the center of the table stands a child in front of the cross.

A year in the making

The creative model took over a year to build.

The depiction is created from an old CPR dummy, mannequins, bird skills and electric motors.

Cyber punk characters discuss their views on sin, forgiveness, guilt and judgement whilst audience members walk around the piece, observe and absorb.

Availability

The masterpiece and performance can be seen at the following times:

  • Monday-Friday 11am and 2pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 11am, 2pm and 4pm.

Booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment and is limited to 25 people, so make sure you book early.

Admission does include entry into the museum.

Further details about the performance can be found on the Torre Abbey Website.

A word of warning to parents the scene does contain very strong language and adult themes making this piece unsuitable for children under 15.
