Knifepoint robbery in Torquay prompts appeal for witnesses

On the 14th February 2019 around 8:45pm a man entered the Livermead Cliff Hotel on the Torbay Road and produced a knife and demanded money before entering the reception.

Upon entry the offender carried out a search and left the hotel with a quantity of cash.

Detectives are investigating the robbery and are asking for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.

If you were in the area at the time or if you have any relevant dash cam footage of the area around the hotel between 8:30pm and 9:00pm on the 14th February then the police would like to speak with you.

Both a man and a woman, in their 30s and from Torquay, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

They have, however, since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
