Have a Pawsome time at the Cockington Dog Day

This Sunday, 19th August sees the return of the annual Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust’s annual dog day at Cockington Country Park.

Back for a third year

This fun canine event, now in its third year, is a celebration of all the park’s doggie visitors.

The day will contain a fun dog show, lots of specialist pet organisations and companies all offering demonstrations, advice and so much more.

The fun dog show is bar far the main event and all dog owners are invited to take part and get involved in the event.

Bring the dog

At a time when some of Torbay’s prestigious beaches are closed to dog walkers.

This event is 100% dog friendly and you are encouraged to bring yours, no matter what the size.

If you’ve got one of those dogs that needs a few lessons in manners, head over to the show classes where they have a class suitable for every dog no matter the size, shape, age or breed.

Headline Sponsors at Cockington Dog Day

Seymour Vets have Kindly sponsored doggie goody bags for winners and Sam Clark from Farlap Photography, one of the UK’s leading specialises in canine photography, has offered a fee pet portrait for the first place winner in each group.

Unfortunately the great British Summer, although still great, it is expected that the day will be a little cooler.  Still the dogs will have access to entry of water stations, shady trees and even a paddling pool (exclusively for dogs).

Along side these sponsors, the Trust, is pleased to welcome dog rescue and rehoming charity Galgos Del Sol, who work with Spanish Greyhounds that have been abandoned on the streets.

All funds raise from the dog show will also help support the amazing work this chair does.

Cockington’s Green Heart Project

The Cockington Dog Day is brought to you by the Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust who maintain and look after the  wildlife and heritage sites that we’re fortunate to have in Torbay.

This event provides the vital funds and awareness for the Cockington’s Green Heart Project, which is responsible for the care and restoration of the park, improvements to the visitor experience and the development of the volunteer programme.
