Edmundson Electrical, prioritise PPE supplies for Torbay tourism businesses

Partners in Torbay are working hard on the Tourism and Visitor Economy Recovery Plan, supporting businesses to get ready to open and operate safely in line with the Government’s Road Map.

TDA has established links with a local supplier to ensure businesses can access all the necessary PPE, enabling English Riviera B&Bs, tourism and hospitality businesses to be ready to re-open safely on 4 July. This is the earliest date the Government has proposed tourism and hospitality businesses can reopen. Partners are urging businesses to plan their safe opening and make their orders now.

Edmundson Torquay has increased its stock levels of PPE including sanitiser dispensers, masks, cleaning products and screens. By doing so the Company is supporting Torbay businesses to operate responsibly and compliant with Government and Public Health England guidance.

The Company has a Royal Warrant to supply the Crown and is also a supplier to the NHS. To help play their part in supporting the local economy, Edmundson Torquay has committed to prioritising orders from tourism and hospitality businesses.

Councillor Swithin Long, Torbay Council Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Tourism and Housing, said: â€śTourism and hospitality are key industries in Torbay, and we are so pleased that we have this commitment from Edmunson Torquay. Using social media, TDA contacted the company and shared their details with businesses, so that they have everything they need to be ready when we are given the green light by Government to reopen. By taking these steps now Torbay will be better placed to recover from the impact of COVID-19.”

Edmundson Electrical established in Torquay in 1989. Their Branch Manager David Martini is proud to work for a responsible operating company with high standards.

David said: “We are delighted to be working with TDA on this, and hopefully playing a role in helping the Bay get on its feet again. My team know that the next 4-6weeks is a 24/7 operation to get Torbay and other regions the PPE and social distancing kit they need. We have put together a new product bundle for businesses, so they have everything they need in one simple order.”

Businesses in Torbay can place their order and also ask any questions by contacting David Martini on [email protected] or 07956 492480.
