Torbay is tropical for most of the summer, however, during the autumnal and winter months the resort also has lots to offer.
Torbay would love to invite you to kick start your 2018 Christmas and winter season with a whole host of exciting celebrations, light switch ons, a whole host of Christmas inspired shops, a variety of eateries and of course a visit to Santa.
Christmas has already started in Torquay with the fabulous and well organised Torquay Christmas carnival.
The Christmas carnival took place on the 17th November 2018.
However, if you missed it, fear not, there is still plenty of festive events going on, so to help you we’ve compiled a few of them right here:
Paignton Christmas Light Switch Ons
Although both Torquay, Brixham and Torre all have their lights on, Paignton is holding a special festival of light.
The Paignton Festival of Light features a light lantern parade which will start at 4pm, 8th December 2018, coming from Torbay Park, opposite the Pirate Bay Adventure Gold attraction.
After the parade you can expect plenty of music, singing and festive treats in Palace Avenue Gardens.

Christmas Markets – Torquay
Torquay is set to have a Christmas Market, positioned outside H&M throughout December. Â At present their are two stalls, serving a variety of festive treats as well as delicious tasting mulled wine.
During December a selection of stalls will also be accompanying these static stalls, making it a perfect opportunity for you to pick up some unique gifts for Christmas.
Torbay Late Night Shopping
Torbay Council is offering FREE late night parking on the three Thursdays in December, something we have had confirmed with Torbay Council.
These Thursdays include the 6th, 17th and 20th December, free parking kicks off at 6pm-9:30pm and is only valid on the Thursdays.
Plus, throughout December on a Sunday you will be able to park for just £1.40 for the whole day at the following car parks:
Lower Union Lane
Union Square
Harbour Car Park
Victoria Multi Storey
Brixham Central
We weren’t to sure whether this was correct, so we contacted the council and this was confirmed.
