JOB: Ageing Well Community Builders

Torbay’s Ageing Well Partnership has been awarded £6 million from the Big Lottery Fund for a six year programme to reduce social isolation experienced by people over 50. We want to reach every front door, building a sustainable neighbourhood network, valuing the contributions that people over 50 have to make to each other and the wider community, stimulating new activities age_better_logoand ensuring people know what is available and can participate.

We are currently looking for up to 10 Community Builders to work at the neighbourhood level, or with existing associational groups, to engage with isolated older people and to support people in building connected and caring communities that are welcoming places for people to grow older together.

We are not looking for qualified social workers, but a team of motivators, connectors, communicators, tacticians, torbay-community-development-trust-logopeacemakers and storytellers. Confident, kind, resourceful, courageous, warm and encouraging people that can grow capacity, weave relationships and help local people build their communities.
