Welcome to WordPress for Business – The Basics

In this short one hour session you will learn the very basics of WordPress. In fact we promise to deliver it so basic that you can start the day at 9am and implement what you’ve learned right from the go.

We will cover:

1. WordPress, what is it, the different types of WordPress, what version you have and how to login to your system.
2. The admin panel: Getting you familiar with the admin panel, the different post types, the different areas and how to add images before you even start writing any kind of content for your website.
3. Plugins:- We’ll take a dive into how you can extend the functionality of your WordPress website through the implementation of plugins.
4. Adding a Post:- We’ll add a new post, an image, choose a category and then we’ll click that all important publish button. Did we also mention we’d touch on what you can do once you’ve published your first article?
5. Adding a page:- We’ll take a look at adding a page, how it compares to a post and why these are important for the success and longevity of your website.

Prerequisites

This short workshop assumes you have WordPress installed and have a website running using this content management system.
