Torbay Royal Regatta

The Torbay Royal Regatta is one of the oldest events in the bay, taking place for over 200 years.

The regatta is one of the highlights in the Torbay calendar for both its social and sailing events.

This year the Torbay Royal Regatta is back with an exciting new format with 3 days of racing over the August Bank Holiday weekend, followed by the main Royal Regatta Anniversary Challenge Cup races on the Tuesday.

The event will see over 100 yachts and dinghies arrive in the Torbay area.

You can also expect, and new for 2018, the VX One Sportsboat Class National Championship and the 29er Class Summer Championships and both events will offer racing opportunities.

The racing opportunities will be open to IRC Yachts, Cruisers, Sportsboats, Junior Dinghies, Asymmetric, and Non Asymmetric Dinghies.

Back on land you can expect  a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, complete with plenty to see and do over the course of the regatta.

Racing will be taking place in some of the most finest sailing waters in all of Europe.

Attendees to the race can expect easy and quick access to the race areas from the sheltered harbour.

If you’re looking for a spot of shopping the town centre, cafes, bars, and restaurants are all within a short walk from the harbour.

Free birthing and dinghy parking will also be available throughout the event.

From an amazing firework display on the Monday, through to fun at the fair and even theatre productions making Torbay the place to be this August bank holiday.
